I first discovered cognitive hypnotherapy whilst I was trying to fulfil one of my life long dreams to join the Mounted Branch in the Police. I had always loved horses but hadn't had much actual experience of riding. After a traumatic riding accident I became fearful of even going near a horse. I saw a cognitive hypnotherapist to change this, which actually changed the course of my future.
Although I started riding again and incidentally love it more than ever, my fascination of the human brain and what makes people tick was reignited. Having studied Psychology at undergraduate and Postgraduate level it seemed like the obvious path to go down.
I have a particular interest in depression and anxiety and believe that by taking a more holistic approach and exploring different areas of an individual's life I can really make a difference. I am currently studying nutrition and weight management as well as REPs Level 3 meaning I can offer practical advice on weight loss and exercise. I am passionate about exercise and how it can change a person's life both physically and mentally.
I have given up smoking with hypnotherapy, something I have never been successful at before. I have trained in the Simmons Method for smoking cessation which is a science based approach that looks at each smoker as an individual.
